Telstra Discontinue Community Care Applications

In a surprising announcement in October 2022, Telstra Health revealed its decision to discontinue investment, development, and support for several of its products. This news has left many aged and disability providers in Australia disappointed and inconvenienced. The affected software includes Home Care Manager, ComCare, The Care Manager (TCM), and Community Connect.

The discontinuation schedule for the software is as follows, according to the latest information available to THREEDIGITAL:
  • Home Care Manager (HCM) will be discontinued from March 2024.
  • ComCare and TCM will be discontinued from March 2024.
  • Community Connect will be discontinued from September 2023.
  • Discontinuation of Community Connect, a software developed from scratch by Telstra Health. Unfortunately, this product will no longer be available from approximately September 2024.

With the imminent end of these products, providers are now faced with the challenge of finding alternative software solutions, a process that needs to be completed simultaneously with many others in the industry. Transitioning to new software involves several steps, such as signing contracts and statements of work, configuring the software, migrating data, training staff, managing implementation, and realizing business benefits. This transition will require a significant amount of time.

Considering the urgency of the situation, providers must start searching for suitable software immediately. However, it is essential to be aware that the best software vendors may already be overwhelmed with queries and projects. It is crucial to act promptly to avoid any further delays.

THREEDIGITAL is ready to assist Telstra Health customers in finding the right software, negotiating prices, managing data migration, training staff, and ensuring a smooth transition.
